Lage

Villa Palagione liegt inmitten einer malerischen Naturlandschaft der Toskana, etwa 7 km entfernt von der etruskisch, römisch und mittelalterlich geprägten Stadt Volterra. Die kunsthistorischen Städte wie Siena, Florenz, San Gimignano, Pisa, Lucca liegen ganz in der Nähe und sind leicht zu erreichen. Das Meer mit Sand- und Felsstränden ist etwa 45 km entfernt.

Das Zentrum verfügt über 50 Betten (EZ, DZ, Appartement-jeweils mit eigener Dusche/WC), hauseigene toskanische Küche mit regionalen Spezialitäten (Frühstücksbüffet, Menü mit mehreren Gängen) Das antike Ambiente der 400jährigen Medici- Villa bietet freskengeschmückte Zimmer und Säle, mehrere Seminarräume, Bar, eine Kirche (auch als Konzert- und Ausstellungsraum nutzbar) und einen blütenreichen Park.

Programmschwerpunkte

Sprachstudienaufenthalte, Kunstatelier Malen, Alabaster- Werkstatt, Computerkurse, Musik- und Theaterworkshops, Besichtigungen der kunsthistorischen Kulturstätten der Toskana, "Geschichte zum Anfassen", Exkursionen und Gespräche "vor Ort" mit Experte zu regionalspezifischen Themen; Seminare und Fachtagungen. Des Weiteren bietet das Zentrum die Möglichkeit zum Reiten, Fahrradfahren und von geführten Wanderungen durch die Schönheiten der Toskana.

The place

Villa Palagione is about 7 km from Volterra, in a typical Tuscan landscape.It is an ancient country residence, built in 1598 by Geronimo Minucci, cupbearer of the Medici at the peak of the Florentine Power and culture.In a setting that has seen four century of history, the villa still offers frescoed rooms and halls, a Gentilitial Chapel and an Italian Garden full of flowers and perfumes.Villa Palagione can accomodate up to 50 persons in Single and double rooms or apartments, with shower and bathroom. lt also offers a tasty local cooking with homemade Tuscan specialities.

The Centro Interculturale offers a rich program of activities focused primarily an language sojourns; theater, music, painting and alabaster workshops, and tours of art Cities in Tuscany. The Centro also organizes meetings, congresses and seminairs an the European level.There is also a wide range of leisure activities: bicycle and horseback excursions, as well as hiking and trekking through the Tuscan forests and valleys.
